Be You!

Good Morning!!!

Hope you are all doing well and having a great weekend in England or if in the UAE saying hello to a brand new week filled with brand new goals. Reflecting on an amazing weekend spent with my gorgeous family and feeling completely blessed. Made me stop and think about how life is really simple it’s just us who like to complicate things. As a mum and a wife it’s so easy to slip into comparing yourself to others and especially with the social media pressures of today. A friend of mine posted today a quote saying ‘what will people say?’ Is a question that we ask ourselves which then results in us not following our dreams. I mean who cares what other people think? It’s your life and your rules and it’s time to start being YOU and following your dreams putting everyone else’s opinions aside. People will always think their way is the right way but let me tell you there is no right way. YOUR life is to be lived YOUR way!

If people are talking of you or have an opinion of you well you must be doing something right. Keep life simple, focus on what’s important to you and never quit the day dream!

Peace and Love

Breast Feeding Power Smoothie

Good Morning Readers,

I wanted to share with you a super smoothie that has been amazing helping me get a better milk supply. As breast feeding mothers will agree it’s not easy getting your milk to come through, it’s actually something that I thought would come easy boy was I wrong! You actually have to really work at this and plan your meals with some key foods to give you that you extra support. This smoothie actually came as a surprise and was made by Faisal one morning and something that I now have everyday. We love starting the day with a smoothie so this was something that fitted in to our lifestyle well. I know that your time can be pushed as mums and it’s always a little differcult doing things one handed but give this a try even making a batch to keep in the fridge.

It worked for me and I wanted to share it as it could work for you too.

1 banana

Half cup of oats

1 tablespoon of almond butter

Handful of blueberries

2 cups of almond milk

Let me know how you find it,

Peace and Love

Weekend Vibes…

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

The weekend had landed and we are very excited for some family time. After a busy weekend last week we are very much looking forward to a chilled weekend. The summer is upon us in Abu Dhabi and it is scorching so it’s lots of indoor playtime with Nevaeh and possibly some sunset swims. Sometimes you just need some home time, no schedule and just to go with the flow. That’s what we will be up to this weekend!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend doing whatever makes you happy surrounded by those you love!

Weekend fun celebrating Daddy Dubai style…

Good Morning Readers!

We hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Eid Mubarak to all of our family and friends and Happy Fathers Day to all of them super daddy’s out there. This weekend we celebrated Faisal’s first Father’s Day with a family weekend in Dubai. This was our first family outing to Dubai as previously it’s always just been me and Faisal. We were so excited to explore Dubai as a family and decided to try some new attractions that we have never done before. Thinking of Nevaeh and the things that may stimulate her at this stage in her development we opted for Dubai Aquarium and The Glow Garden. We had heard such great things about both of these attractions and with it’s mainly being lights and colour we thought it would be the perfect pick. We were not disappointed!

The aquarium and under water zoo were just fantastic and great you know that they offer 25 per cent off for UAE residents. There was so many different animals and great to watch the feeding times and learn more about the different animals. Nevaeh loved all the different colours of the tanks and fish and not denying me and Faisal loved it too being the big kids that we are. Following the aquarium we then went over to Zeebel Park to see the glow garden. Arriving just after sunset the park was lit up with all different designs and light tunnels to walk through, it is so pretty! Nevaeh also loved looking at all the bright lights and taking in all the different patterns which was as parents which was great for us to see as we are always looking at new things to stimulate her, it a lovely place to take the family. We will look to return after the summer when the evenings become cooler and look to take a picnic. There are also lots of little stalls that sell light up toys so be sure to take some cash with you as your children will for sure be wanting one of those!

It really was a perfect weekend and a great way to celebrate Faisals first Father’s Day. Both attractions we consider a must for families living here in the UAE. Faisal and I are very excited to continue to create these type of memories with our princess and experience the UAE in a different way than we did before.

The question is where to next…

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

Peace and Love

Positive Parenting…

Good Morning Readers,

As new parents ourselves with our princess Vaeh now being nearly 11 weeks old (how?) I wanted to talk about being a parent and a little to do list for when it comes to the most awesome job on earth. I remember when I was 9 months pregnant and anticipating the arrival of our princess wondering of the situations I would be faced with and what if I don’t know what to do. Friends and family told me not to worry there is a motherly instinct that comes in and you just know, they were so right! It’s such a wonderful feeling of fulfillment watching your baby grow and develop knowing that you are doing all you can. It’s really important and hard in this day and age with social media pressures to not compare yourself to others. Every baby is different and has their own way so you trying to keep up with that person you follow on Instagram who looks like they have got it all worked out and 9/10 I can guarantee they haven’t, is not gonna work for you or your baby.

Being a parent makes you realise that it really is the simplest of things that mean the most. Simple family time is precious with our favorite being bath time as it’s our time to wind down and I just love seeing out princess looking so content and ready for bed. It also makes me laugh when she has gone to sleep when me and Faisal sit on the couch in silence for a minute to just let our body and mind catch up with us lol! Then when we start conversation we just talk about how amazing she is, she really is our world.

I think it’s very true to say that there are no ways to be a perfect parent but plenty of ways to be a good one. We are learning everyday (thank you google) and always giving our best to Nevaeh and I think that’s all you can do. Every day is a new adventure and it’s important to just embrace it and enjoy every second.

We as parents are all superheroes and I think it’s really important to celebrate that! Keep doing what your doing, learning and growing day by day on this magical journey of parenthood.

Peace and Love

Nevaeh’s first swim…

Good Morning Lovelies!

Going into a new week reminiscing about the fab weekend we had together as a family. This weekend as Nevaeh turned 10 weeks old (where has the time gone!) we decided to take her for her first swim. She absolutely loves the bath so had no doubt that she would love swimming also. I can honestly say from the moment we got pregnant I think Faisal has been waiting for this day, we were so excited! I am surprised we waited until 10 weeks with us both being passion fruits but we wanted to make sure that all of the injections had been done. We were so happy that from the minute we put Nevaeh in the pool she loved it. I then got the fear as Faisal had always said that he would dunk her when she was a baby to get her used to the water. Feeling anxious at the thought away he went and he was right she wasn’t fazed and seemed so content.

I am so happy that Nevaeh seems to be like daddy in being a complete water baby I as a child was quite the opposite.

We are so excited for our next swim and going to now implement it into our weekly routine.

We are loving this adventure of parenthood with our little princess enjoying all of these little milestones. I wonder what exciting new experiences awaits us this week.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Peace and Love

My motivation…

Good Morning Beautiful People,

How are you all doing today?

I am feeling the aches already from yesterday’s workout ah the joys but in all honesty I actually love it and also know it’s gonna be a whole lot worse tomorrow. So I am now approaching 10 weeks postpartum and had not yet got back in to working out. With having an active pregnancy and training right the way up to delivery I had been excited to get back to training but also listening to my body and giving myself some time. Even though fitness is my profession I was never gonna be that person that runs back the gym obsessing about their baby weight. Through pregnancy I loved my body, my big belly that was the home to our princess I loved and damn my bum was big I totally embraced my curves and was in fact in no rush to lose them. Don’t get me wrong I am not denying I may of been different if I gained 5 stone but all in all I was happy.

I really wanted to get back to training as I know how good it makes you feel and I am a firm believer that a healthy and happy mummy has a positive effect on the whole family but I didn’t want to leave my princess. I then came to the conclusion that when she sleeps I will work out and that’s what I did. So yesterday I completed 45 minutes of body weight, postnatal exercises and stretching with my rest consisting of peeping through to the crib to check she was ok.

I remember I used to say to my clients don’t feel guilty coming to train it’s good for you and your child. You then feel good, give yourself time and go back to being the best mum you can be…. I laugh now as I was definitely not a mum back then and can now say I totally get it!

My motivation right now is knowing that a happy and healthy mum leads to a happy and healthy home. So that’s where I am at. I want to lead a lifestyle that my daughter will look up to and continue to follow making it the norm to be healthy and active. We as mums (and dads) must remember that we are role models for our children and should lead by example.

So if your a mum reading this or anyone infact take this as a message to invest in you. You will not believe the impact that you will then have on those around you.

Together we can impact our children and make the normal lifestyle one of health, happiness and keeping active.

Wishing you all a healthy day!

After weeks of saying to family and friends I thought she was teething but doubting myself as surely at 9 weeks and 2 days this couldn’t be. After a day of her not being her smiley self I had a little feel around and found a little tooth poking through on the bottom middle left! I love the motherly instincts we get it really is the best. So off I go today on the search for teething soothers so if you have any recommends please share!

Wishing you all a great day!

A Sunday well spent…

Good Morning Readers,

You know the saying a Sunday well spent brings a week of content well I couldn’t agree more. Wether your on your rest day in England or kick starting your week here in the Middle East I wanted to highlight some of the things that you can do in order to balance yourself, eliminate stress and feel overall happier. I love this image from Positively Present highlighting all the things we can do to lift our mood. It looks so simple hey? Well it really is!

There are so many reasons to be happy and by choosing even if it be just one of these things to include in your day today it can really make a difference to how your day unfolds. My personal favorite is ‘be your own cheerleader!’ I think it’s so important to love who you are with no validation from others. I can guarantee that you the reader have accomplished something so far in your life that you are super proud of, It’s the first thing that comes to your mind as you read this. So be proud of who you are and what you have achieved and use that self love and positivity to channel into this new week ahead. Put pen to paper and make a note of the little things you want to include in this awesome week that awaits you, patting yourself on the back as you tick your way through them throughout your week.

Wishing you all a blessed and Happy Sunday!

Peace and Love
